Krabi, Thailand’s upcoming high season believed to be record-breaking
Krabi, Thailand’s upcoming high season is believed to be a record-breaking one. As Krabi’s popularity rises, so does the need for additional accommodations, airline routes and advanced medical care. All of these needs and concerns are being met to insure that the tourist boom doesn’t diminish.
Situated on the beautiful Andaman Sea in southwest Thailand, Krabi Province is an idyllic place for people to spend a holiday. It has a great deal to offer in the way of activities, attractions and cultural interactions.
With its pristine beaches, Krabi offers all manner of water sports including fishing, kayaking scuba diving and wreck diving. Visitors can go island hopping to any of the 132 offshore islands, rock climb on the huge limestone cliffs, visit Buddhist shrines and temples, explore caves, watch kickboxing matches, or dine at Krabi’s fabulous restaurants.
Increased Airline Routes to Krabi
With the increase of tourists, several airlines are meeting the travelers’ demand for more air service to Krabi. New flights have been added and more airlines are creating new routes to Krabi.
Krabi’s relatively new International Airport makes travel to Krabi a great deal easier. New flights from China originating in Guangzhou have been added to AirAsia’s schedule. Last year, AirAsia introduced round-trips flights from Singapore and Chiang Mai.
Malaysian Airlines, Bangkok Airways, Tiger Airways and Finish airlines Finnair, now have scheduled flights to Krabi. Charter flights from Australia, Europe and Russia are also increasing.
Krabi’s New Hospital
Krabi recently opened a new and modern hospital, Krabi Nakharin, which was sorely needed. Previously, the only advanced medical facilities were in Phuket and Bangkok, quite a distance away. Now visitors, especially retirees, can travel with confidence, knowing that top-rated medical treatment is available, if needed.
New Accommodations in Krabi
Large and small investors alike are responding to the increased needs for all types of accommodations. Now there is a great variety of places to stay, from hostels, budget inns, hotels and bed and breakfasts, to the new 206-room Ibis Styles international hotel.
Krabi Riviera Offering New Rental Villas
Krabi Riviera Co., Ltd., a well-known villa management company, has responded to the tourism boom by building six additional private luxury villas.
Amatapura Beach Villa 1 sleeps 8-10 guests and is a wonderful choice for a family reunion or special occasion. It is part of a private luxury development in Sai Thai, Krabi, and is only a few minutes’ drive to the popular Ao Nang beach.
Pierre Yves Loriers, Managing Director of Krabi Riviera Villas said, “This particular private villa sits right on the beach. We designed it to take full advantage of the stunning view of the Andaman Sea.”
In addition to its magnificent views, Amatapura 1 has four bedrooms, four baths, an outdoor patio, and a sundeck surrounding a 43-meter private saltwater pool. If guests want to island hop, all they need to do is contact the on-site concierge who will arrange for a boat to pick them up right on the beach adjoining their villa.
The villa staff can arrange for any transportation needs, including motorbike or car rentals, or use of their own tuk-tuk service. There is 24/7 security and off-street parking.
If all of the construction and increased air flights are any indication, Krabi will certainly have a record-breaking high season, perhaps even more successful than the experts predict. In any event, it is a win-win situation for the Krabi, Thailand tourism industry, and for the visitors who are flocking to this most lovely and interesting vacation destination.
